Who is she?

From Wikipedia: “Rashida Harbi Tlaib (born July 24, 1976) is an American politician and lawyer serving as the U.S. Representative for Michigan’s 13th congressional district since 2019. The district includes the western half of Detroit, along with several of its western suburbs and much of the Downriver area. A member of the Democratic Party, Tlaib represented the 6th and 12th districts of the Michigan House of Representatives before her election to Congress. She was the first Muslim woman to serve in the Michigan legislature….Tlaib is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America. She and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are the first two DSA members to serve in Congress.”

Political Position

She favors Palestine over Israel, having called for America to end any aid program to Israel.  Her parents were Palestinian. She is not a Trump supporter, being among those who have actively pursued the idea of impeachment; referring to Trump as a ‘motherf…er.’  She supports the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanction campaign against Israel, which clearly shows a bias. BDS seeks to cut off Israel from trade and other relations with the rest of the world.  She did not waiver in her position towards Israel as another Muslim woman, Ilhan Omar, did during her campaign, joining Tlaib in her position after the election.  She wants Israel to abandon any development in the West Bank area. Tlaib wants to abolish ICE (Immigration Customs Enforcement agency). 

Like many of her socialists progressive Democrat colleagues, she supports a $15 minimum wage, stronger workplace safety laws, workers’ right to collectively bargain and the creation of a federal jobs guarantee program. She feels strongly that America needs to ensure that every parent has access to affordable child care and every student can access guaranteed tuition-free and debt-free public college.

Tlaib won the Democratic Primary for her House seat by a margin of only 1.0%, in a large candidate field.  Her vote percentage of totals was 31.2%. 

Muslims/Islamists in DC

Congressmen Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib wasted no time in shaking up the US House of Representatives. Early Friday morning, (Jan 11, 2019) Omar and Tlaib introduced a bill adding Islamic holidays to the Federal calendar which has traditionally only recognized American holidays.  This would add Eid Al-Fitr at the end of Ramadan and the four-day-long celebration of Eid Al-Adha to the list of Federally recognized holidays.  Banks and schools and other federal institutions would be closed for business. They have threatened their House leader, Hoyer, of being sued on the basis of religious discrimination if he did not bring this subject up for vote in the near term. Is Sharia Law net?

In an online article by Jordan Schachtel (ConservativeReview.com, 2/16/19 – Rashida Tlaib joins extremist imam on CAIR speaking circuit), he notes, “Tlaib has decided to share a stage with the sexist, gay-bashing, anti-Semitic imam and an extremist CAIR director, as she has routinely identified herself as a progressive feminist and an advocate for LGBT rights. 

It does appear that Tlaib agrees with the two hate-preachers (Imam Suleiman, a Muslim Brotherhood linked Imam, and Dawud Walid, the Michigan director of Hamas linked C.A.I.R.) when it comes to the Jewish state of Israel. Its mere existence as a sovereign state has become an obsession for the newly elected “Palestinian-American” congresswoman. On the first day of her congressional tenure, Tlaib’s office wiped Israel off of her office map, replacing it with a post-it note that said, “Palestine.” Islam does not like Jews.  Robert Spencer noted in one of his online articles, “There is a strong native strain of anti-Semitism in Islam, rooted in the Qur’an. The Qur’an puts forward a clear, consistent image of the Jews: they are scheming, treacherous liars and the most dangerous enemies of the Muslims.” 

Tlaib follows the tenets of Islam in this regard, possibly with respect to other commands or claims in her Quran too. 

Has the Left turned a blind eye towards anti-semites as long as they are for the Left?

Tlaib has become a regular on the CAIR circuit. In February, she headlined a CAIR-Chicago fundraiser. In January, she spoke at a CAIR event in which she was introduced by an avowed supporter of the U.S.-designated terrorist organization Hamas.

Rep. Tlaib is not the only elected congressional representative speaking at a CAIR event in March 2019. On March 23, her Democratic colleague, anti-Semitic Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., will speak at a CAIR fundraiser in Los Angeles.”

Should we be concerned.  As freedom loving American citizens I say, YES.

We know legislators are subject to the money they need to continue their future quests to retain office. Also the largest funding sources are lobbyists with an agenda, seeking votes, support, or allegiance from those they fund.  Would it not follow that political Islamic organizations, less patriotic and more ideological, would give to the ideologically friendly, like Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, to further their want to transform America, to include amending the Constitution and instituting hate laws with a focus on Muslims. They are focused on Islam and the more strident, even radical Muslim over any given American infidel.
