UI – Part 161 – Do Not Ignore the Religious and Ideological Roots of Islamist Terrorism

Investigate Tragic Events

Tragic events that take place require a thorough investigation.  Too often overlooked are links to hatred towards Jews that engender tragic killings of Jews by Muslims. Iran is prepared, has expressed their intent, and directly proclaims they will eradicate Israel from the world map.  Such proclamations cannot be viewed as hollow threats given what has happened throughout the world by Muslims committing acts against religious groups other than their own, Jews, Christians, Hindus, etc., Even within Islam if there is a disagreement with interpretations of the Quran or authority, battles, resistance to dissent, the killing of multitudes  rages. The world  has watched or read about, on TV screens and in newspapers, atrocities committed that question any respect for human life or human rights.  It is often barbaric acts that are exposed, and justified under the name of Allah.  Mention of locales such as Syria, Iran, Afghanistan, the Sudan, Rwanda, Nigeria among others, is a reminder of the mental collapse of leaders towards anything right, to a desire for personal gains or acceptance at all costs.

Pockets of Divisiveness

The Arab Spring is growing more pockets of potential divisiveness with the Muslim Brotherhood straining to take the lead and show the world fundamentalist Islam, the days of the 7th Century, are here to stay – by fear and force as necessary.   They are systematic and skillful in using methods of infiltration with patience to gain footholds everywhere in the world they can – even the USA.

Quoting Daniel Pipes, “Ignoring the religious and ideological roots of Islamist terrorism carries a heavy price…. Islamism must be squarely faced to protect ourselves from future violence.”

Attacks on others may be prevented by proper police studies as well as the cooperation of political – governmental authorities, congressmen, even the President and his Administration – leaders and authorities. There has been too much evidence of excessive Political Correctness adopted to mitigate the tactics of Islamists in exposing their hatred towards Jews, the West and anything free.  The US Military has been ordered, as an example, to remove any connection between terrorism and Muslims in training manuals.

In addition we experience violent reactions by Muslims towards issues under the claim of persecution of Islam that go far beyond the pale of human consciousness. This has occurred towards cartoons, films, speeches, books, authors, and articles.  Reactions must be analyzed for what they are and might cause, such as expressions of hatred and pending violence.  Words spoken may not portend the worst, but one cannot be too certain.  Steps must be taken to watch, listen and be prepared.

Muslim Education

How are Muslims being educated and what are they being taught?  This may not apply to all Muslims, but we must know what is applicable in which educational environment if acts of terrorism are supported, be it madrassa, Islamic Center or mosque, by whom (the mullah or  ulema in charge) and where.  Where expressions inciting hatred are repeated there must be concern for the possible outpouring of such venom on the society that is the focus of the teacher’s teachings.

Our enforcement system needs to explore connections, be a watch dog for the next event with a focus and dedication towards prevention.  Let us not hide the cause for the desire of not offending.  We must be honest, aware, on guard and ready for tragedy to strike. Organizations as C.A.I.R. react constantly to anything that condemns Muslims, or Islam, for suspicious acts, or even criticism.  They too see the smoke but prefer to dismiss it as no reason for setting off the fire alarm.  Yet they do little to stop the building of the fires of enmity towards anything that is not Islamic.   They in fact fan the flames.

On Guard

How and what Muslims are being taught, especially here in America, is as necessary as understanding the curriculum offered and subjects taught in all public schools.  If hatred its being promoted it must be curtailed.

The culture of Islam that is allowed to grow in America cannot be that of an All for Allah mentality.  We are a pluralistic society and must support the common laws that apply to everyone without exception.  We cannot condone Sharia law or foreign laws that are in discord with our Constitution.  We must avoid Multiculturalism when it subjects those within its confines to ideologies incompatible with American standards of acceptance and tolerance.

Where terrorism can be planted we must ensure the soil is unworthy.  If there are weeds of terrorism growing that can be seen they must be plucked.  Where there are those cultivating in disguise the weeds of terrorism their greenhouses must be located and destroyed, the sources of the products cut-off from delivery.  We must be on-guard for the seeds of hatred being planted on American soil and defend the productive beautiful product of a Godly nation created 400 years ago.

  1. GODLY NATION? WHERE SOCIAL AND MORAL STANDARD IS NOT VALUE, WHERE SODOMY, LESBIANISM IS OPENLY PRACTICE, A COUNTRY THAT ATTACK A WEAKER NATION, A COUNTRY THAT PEOPLE ARE KILLED AT RANDOM, A COUNTRY WHERE USURY IS PRACTICED, AND VARIOUS FORM OF ATROCITY AND YOU CALLED IT A GODLY COUNTRY?

    1. Tunde:

America appears to be the target of your concern. It is not a Godly Nation if you define such as a Theocracy. God is not the rule of law; the Bible is not the standard of all practices, nor is the Quran. The laws are those that are for the good of all, for the good of the common people whether Christian, atheist, Jew, Muslim or whatever pursuasion. Freedom does allow for those human practices that are viewed as persverse in Scripture, yet when they impact others, third-parties, they are not permitted. The rights of all humans, male or female, all races, and all religions and ideolgies are to be protected, as long as they do not cause harm to others.

As for America attackng a weaker Nation, and I am not intending this to be a discussion supporting America’s actions or suggesting they were in error, but many Nations suppress dissent within their borders in ways that can be quite barbaric. Where there is freedom their exist differences. Iran suppresses those opposed to the Government or even the Khomeini. Military actions in Syria, a civil war, is between an autocrat and the people, with wanton acts of murder and destruction just to maintain power. Muslim countries oppose those who choose another religion as the pathway to Salvation. People are killed for such personal choices. I find that disturbing.

Where America, rightly or wrongly, aided in battles to protect innocents in various countries, they never remained as an occupier. They attempted, their skills may have been lacking, to have each nation then choose peacefully, if ever possible, to conduct elections so the people as a whole could select the leadership they desire. If that be Theocratic then so be it. The Question I always ask is in a Theocratic controlled environment, such being the case in over 50 Muslim nations, is the common man, the non-believer, equally protected? Are woman equally protected?

Your emphasis is on strict Quranic dictates, such as your comment on ‘usury’, yet even the most Islamic find ways to get around interest and insurance. Muslims can escape multiple partners, the men do, by having weekend wives and the like. In my studies of Islam I find many practices orriented towards the male libido, the status of authority, sensitivity towards even the slightest spector of persecution, even towards idols as Muhammad and the Quran, not just Allah, that seem to justify violent reaction and hatred, with little forgiveness to follow. Maybe that suggests being ‘Godly’ is not that easy for anyone.

My goal is to be open to comments such as yours and listen intently to the ways of the Muslim while at the same time encouraging such openness and objectivity on the part of Muslims towards the Bible, with an emphasis on the New Testament. I raise questions and concerns I have discovered many Muslims are afraid to ask, even encouraged to not even consider. Forgiveness is paramount in understanding the faith of the Christian. No longer is it up to God to decide based upon sacrifices and good works. It is the heart of man that is important and their understanding of the Saving Grace of our Lord and Savior. Recognize the sin, some you have mentioned, repent and change your life, but as a believer in the Risen Lord, you have received forgiveness and have the Spirit of the Lord inside as your reminder and guarantee of a life after this life. Christians are persecuted too, the Bible forecast such would occur, yet by knowing God we need not take up weapons against those that oppose us. Our faith is our protection.

      Grace and Peace

    2. Yes. Where you can be free. Where your religion is your choice, not your govt or culture. Where you honor God willingly, by your choice, w/out coercion or retribution if you decide another path. Where God is the judge, not you or me.

  2. THE PALESTINIAN NATION IS OCCUPIED AND YOU KILLED AND OPPRESSED THEM ON DAILY BASIS AND THESE PEOPLE RETORTED TO VIOLENCE BEING THE ONLY SELF DEFENSE AND YOU LABEL THEM ISLAMIST TERRORIST, THE INVASION OF IRAQ WAS NOT JUSTIFIED BECAUSE THE WEAPON OF MASS DESTRUCTION FOR WHICH YOU CLAIMED THEY HAVE WAS NOT FOUND AND THEY TOOK TO VIOLENCE TO SHOW THEIR GRIEVANCES YOU LABELED THEM ISLAMIST TERRORISTS. GOD IS NOT A BULLY AND CAN NOT OWN A BULLY COUNTRY, GODLY COUNTRY INDEED!

    1. Adeshina

My discussion is intended as a focus more on the tenants of Islam. Yes I did refer to America as a Gogly Nation as founded and as desired by its Founders. The People are not all Godly. Those of various religions are more cultural, Christian, Jew, Muslim, by heritage, not always as a conscious, independent, researched and free choice. But there is Freedom. Punishment for moral choices is up to God, except when the Common Good is infringed upon. I have many problems, as a committed Christian, to many decisions Americans make. Crimes of passion, hatred, theocratic fundamental differences, superiority and greed are all wrong and despicable. Government must enact laws to protect people in their homes, communities and workplaces from self-righteous differences. Our Government is not a Theocracy.

You have focused your comments towards America, yet you attack Israel. There are innocent people living there willing to live as peaceful neighbors. Why can’t you do the same.

I sense much bitterness in your response. My objective is to expose Muslims to their Scripture and challenge their independence in understanding what they are told. At the same time I suggest an open attitude towards the Book of the People, more so the New Testament. Compare history. Compare facts. Get to know God in a personal way. It is possible. There is no mention of war in the NT. That is not the case with the Quran. God’s commandment is to love God and love neighbor, above all else. It is how we adjust our hearts to live forever with him that matters.

      Grace and Peace.
