UI – Part 262 – Patriot for the Lord
Have you ever considered yourself a ‘patriot.’ Most see themselves as a supporter of their Country as being a patriot for the cause of the defense and protection of their nation. As an American I consider myself a patriot. I have been in the military, served my Country. I honor the opportunity I have been given to live in the United States, a nation established on biblical moral and ethical values, where the rule of law is designed for the common good. Freedom is a banner we all carry and pray each day the essential elements are not eroded by controlling parties.
Patriotism for God
Patriotism for God means loving God, being devoted to God, living a life for God as exemplified by Christ, and defending one’s loyalty to God. It is an individual matter. We are not saved collectively. Yet there is a benefit to living with others who believe as you do. We learn from each other. We find comfort in the company of those who believe as we do. We may become an army for our Lord and Savior. We do not carry weapons of war, only the Bible. The Word of God is our armor. “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” (Ephesians 6:12) It is Truth that protects. Your faith is your shield against the arrows of persecution, abuse, hatred, and oppression.
“Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love.” (Ephesians 6:24)
Grace and Peace.
