UI – Part 381 – Islam Denies Christ’s Death on the Cross
Islam Denies Christ’s Crucifixion
The Quran clearly denies Jesus was crucified and died on the cross. Christ’s death, where upon he took the punishment humans deserved for their sins, and resurrection, when Christ’s divinity was confirmed as well as his proclamation to overcome death, are the foundation for the Christian faith. The bad news of man being a sinner and unacceptable to God, was overcome with a gift from God. That gift, free, made those who accept Christ and his substitutional sacrifice, and change their heart, right with God. They receive the Spirit of the Lord (Holy Spirit) and are assured Salvation. This is the Good News.
Muhammad, a mortal, was troubled with the idea that Christ is divine, and thus God. He could not accept Christ as God made Man and he did not accept the Resurrection.
Here is a review of Sura 4:157-158, one of the most famous passages in the Qur’an:
That they said (in boast), “We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah”—but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not—nay, Allah raised him up unto Himself; and Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise.” (Qur’an, 4:157-158, Yusuf Ali)

The Immunity
Then there is Sura 9. It is the last of the Sura’s chronologically. Sura 9.5 is called The Verse of the Sword which compels devout Muslims (radicals) to fight, offensively and defensively, to advance Islam. All Muslims are to be devout, pious. Those who are not do not properly carry out jihad. Those who are devout are jihadists. To the Islamist the non-pious, the moderates, are heretics. No better than an infidel.
Note this chapter is the only one of the Quran that does not begin with the Bismillah. It is part of the section entitled The Immunity which tells all Muslims that to be devout you must carry our Holy War, as violent as needed, for the cause. The cause is a world order All for Allah dominated by those whose character reflects upon the example of Muhammad and dictates to the followers just how to live their daily lives. There is to always be an uncompromising division between believer and non-believer. No tolerance.
There is a Jihad Imperative: as a policy Islam is to remain imperialistic and expansive.
Sura 9 contrasts the love of God with the hatred of Islam towards non-believers. God’s love is demonstrated by God-incarnate provided as a replacement for humans and horrifically punished for the sins of mankind, to be reconciled with God, and made right. God’s children were spiritually reborn, an objective since Adam’s fall. The hatred of Islam is demonstrated by the din of hatred voiced repeatedly throughout the Quran towards infidels and heretics, with the culminating chapter insistent upon all Muslims they continue the Islamic Crusade as long as necessary. This chapter is the fuel from the tanks of hatred to be ignited against infidels.
The Error of Muhammad
By denying the cross Islam avoids true salvation, in effect denying Muslims the opportunity to be saved. This is as Satan would want it. I am not saying Islam is a satanic cult, however I believe Muhammad in his zeal mis-interpreted the intentions of God, the free gift offered, while seeking a unified world having but one supernatural being as creator. He made an error. He also confused God as three persons, three essences, referring to the oneness of God as polytheistic. At the same time he saw 99 appellations for Allah.
Errors were also perpetrated in Hadiths and Imam’s preachings and interpretations in the formation of manmade Islamic Laws, the Sharia, which have placed a black cover over the freedoms of those who are essentially condemned to be Muslims. They must free themselves of the chains in which they are bound culturally. As the scales were lifted from Sauls’ eyes, so many Muslims today are finding God’s light, Christ, a beacon of joy and hope. To leave Islam however is filled with threats of death, chastisement, for such independent thinking and apostasy. The internal pressure can be extreme. But the struggle, the escape, the relief and the saving grace of God is well worth it. You are justified in your faith in Christ.
Chains Unlocked
God gave us all the means to cut the chains and be free in the living water of Christ. We have been cleansed in Christ’s blood, made righteous, to fill our thirst for salvation and be like Jesus, volunteering, doing what is right, in spite of our inherent sinful nature. Why, because the Spirit of God dwells within.
It Happened
Christ, the new Adam, died on the cross, according to Scripture, he was buried and rose after three days, according to Scripture. He died for our sins; he took the weight of our transgressions and suffered for what we did and do. When you experience the truth of the Resurrection you will find your steps lighter, your burdens diminished and your love of others compelling. Walking with God is good. What doe it mean? Here is an answer.
Grace and Peace.
Right on Tom. You have studied well. Thanks for sharing the Truth.
