Who is She?

From Wikipedia: “In 2016, Omar was elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives as a member of the Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party, making her the first Somali-American elected to legislative office in the United States. On November 6, 2018, she became the first naturalized citizen from Africa and first Somali-American elected to the United States Congress. Along with Rashida Tlaib, she was one of the first two Muslim women elected to Congress and the first woman of color to serve as a U.S. representative from Minnesota.”  Omar identifies herself as a democratic socialist. She was born in 1982. 

Omar became a citizen of the USA in 2000.  She maintains her Islamic faith, wears a hijab and when sworn into office pledged her oath on the Quran.  In so doing, according to the Quran and Islamic Law, such an oath need not be honored if in doing so it would not allow the person to advance the cause of Islam.  Such practices called Takayya or Kitman enable an Islamist to not be fully truthful to infidels.

Married with 3 children, she married another in 2009, a person rumored to be her brother, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi. They were divorced in 2017, using political campaign funds to pay her lawyer. Elmi now lives in Britain, where he lived when they married, enabling him to come to the USA to go to college. 

Hijab

The hijab is Omar’s symbol of her desire for the future of America, some believe.  There are countries, many Islamaland areas, where the Islamic police, and self-righteous male vigilantes, seek out those who seek freedom to not wear such a symbol, spraying tear gas, or striking them, even arresting them.  Here is an example from Iran. Quoting the referenced link, “the left in America stands with the hijab jihadis led by Linda Sarsour, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Harbi Tlaib.”  The link shows attempts to resist the police who seek to punish those who choose not to wear the required hijab. 

The hijab to many represents the threat of Islam in areas where this ideology had previously been active or strong.  Those waring this item of clothing are expressing defiance toward common law in free nations and showing their solidarity with the fundamentals of Islam.  Some consider it un-American, a form of defiance against our Constitution. 

Political Islamists

The question that concerns me is whether or not she is a strident Muslim, a political Islamist, or a reformer (of Islam)?  A ‘strident Muslim’ is a believer, can be moderate, or more ritualistic, but not necessarily interested in violent jihad towards non-believers.  A ‘political Islamist’ wants a world All for Allah and will overtly or subversively (dawa) pledge themselves towards that objective.  Sharia law becomes their guide and their quest for a national constitution, making changes in their host country’s polices, procedures and laws accordingly.  A ‘reformer’ wants what America offers, freedom of speech, religion and equal opportunity; they lean towards secular governance where mosque and state are separate and Islam is a private affair.  Moderates will practice their faith in private allowing others to proselytize and practice their faith as well, recognizing pluralism and comfortable with it.  Hatred and prejudice towards Christians and Jews primarily, and infidels (or pagans), will be non-existent or less obvious, as objectivity and reason will prevail.  Apostasy will not raise a call for punishment (or death) and human rights for everyone, to include women, will be respected.

Her Political Position

Omar supports a $15 minimum wage, stronger workplace safety laws, workers’ right to collectively bargain and the creation of a federal jobs guarantee program. She feels strongly that America needs to ensure that every parent has access to affordable child care and every student can access guaranteed tuition-free and debt-free public college.

Her campaign rhetoric clearly shows her aversion to ICE and a want for open borders.  She fits the grouping that would be notable as socialists.  Benefits fill her agenda for those wanting what others have, appearing to her as less privileged.  If someone has two homes, the unoccupied home should have a resident, one that could not afford such a place and needs shelter.  She seeks to mitigate the rewards of accomplishment and hard work as an act of ‘supremacy’ and seeks equality, a socialist norm, which can also be described as equally poor, or equally fed, or equally provided drinking water. Also she might believe your neighbor’s mortgage should be paid by you so they too can enjoy what you have, even if they could not afford such similar housing in the first place.  She also rides the same train wanting healthcare or medicare for all, student loans forgiven, a living wage, and affordable housing (even if they cannot afford it or meet any rent demands). So she is a progressive socialist liberal.  The uncertainty, does she want Islam to become a national religion, even a state religion?

She supports the idea of sanctuary cities.  She opposes any border wall.  She requested, saying essentially, ‘it is so much a part of her faith that the Congressional rules must change to let her wear her religious garb on the House floor.’ She was granted a change in the custom (after 181 years) in the House of Representatives of not wearing religious head coverings, such as a Yarmulke, and now wears her hijab in Congress. 

Omar blocked release of any documents listing her siblings, making it difficult to determine whether she married her brother and committed immigration fraud.

She has expressed dissatisfaction with Israel, supports a two state solution with Palestine, and has openly expressed, in her Twitter account, anti-Semitic views. She wrote (2012), “Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel.” During her Congressional campaign she opposed the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel, which, after elected and sworn into office was reversed;  this was her effort to appeal to the Jewish vote while campaigning. BDS seeks to cut off Israel from trade and other relations with the rest of the world.  Now the Jews in her district know she lies and is anti-Israel. 

She has denounced the Trump administration’s decision to recognize Juan Guaidó, the leader of the Venezuelan National Assembly, as the new president of Venezuela, preferring the socialist (of this failure of a country), Nicolas Maduro. Even as a Muslim, she supports, so she says, rights for the LGBTQ community, not something her Scripture nor Islamic adherents would do

She received 78.0% of the general vote against her Republican opponent, and 48.2% of the Democratic Primary vote in a field of 6 candidates. 

Anti-Semitism

Has the Left turned a blind eye towards anti-semites as long as they are for the Left?

Quanta Ahmed of Fox News said (2/20/2019), “Omar is also proving to be an embarrassment for the Democratic Party, which counts on Jewish votes, Jewish financial support, Jewish campaign workers and Jewish volunteers to win elections.”  American Muslims are speaking out saying they do not want Omar as their public face because of her bias. There were a multiple of tweets posted by Omar that made her views towards Israel clear, which she has since erased and continues to do so. But she has difficulty when her lips move hiding her hatred. 

For the past few years, she has been at the center of  a series of bizarre allegations of marriage fraud and perjury.  She was married according to ‘faith traditions’, divorced also, but eventually married legally in the US.  

Omar’s anti-Semitism has become so widely criticized in such a short period in office (by March 1, 2019) that top Democrats had to start speaking out against her. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) joined other Democrats in denouncing Omar’s tweets espousing Jewish conspiracy theories.  While at the same time Pelosi appears with her in support of other socialist freshman women, to include AOC, in the House.

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) attacked Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Tuesday (3/26/2019) after the latter criticized the anti-Israel “boycott, divestment, sanctions” (BDS) movement in a speech to a pro-Israel group in Washington, DC.  Pelosi told the annual policy conference of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC): “We must also be vigilant against bigoted or dangerous ideologies masquerading as policy, and that includes BDS.” Pelosi also attacked antisemitism and those who questioned the “loyalty or patriotism” of those who support Israel, a reference to remarks by Omar and Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) — though she did not mention either by name.

Eliot Engle, chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, has been critical of Omar asking for her apology due to anti-Semitic references on more than one occasion.  She has been told that she “mischaracterizes support of Israel.” She is blinded by her own prejudices. 

Islamic Focus

Many remember Black Hawk Down, an incident where American helicopters crashed (shot down by Somali warlords) in Mogadishu during an effort to help counter-terrorism efforts and capture a terrorist leader (1993). Al Qaeda and Al Shabbab were active at the time, although Al Qaeda was not a well know name in the USA. Many Americans died as Somali’s surrounded and attacked those trapped in the center of this city. Omar defends the Somali’s, criticizing Americans, but forgets no Somali would have died, nor American, had the Somali’s just walked away. “…thousands of Somalis killed by the American forces that day!,” Omar wrote while still a Minnesota state legislator.  She also tweeted in a 2017 post, false saying, “The United States Army was the villain in the “Black Hawk Down” incident in Somalia;” she was a U.S. Rep at that time. Is she a supporter of Al Shabbab?  

Her views are biased, clearly, towards Islamists. This should be a concern in Washington DC.  I wonder, if asked, would she say she supported an Islamic State.  That is what Al Shabbab wants in Somalia. 

Congress and Diversity

Having a Muslim, or a Muslim-American (naturalized citizen) in Congress shows the diversified nature of our nation.  It can be a good thing.  Americans felt that way about Obama and what he could do to unify a nation whose history showed great progress towards better racial and ethnic relations.  But in the view of many, including me, he failed to do that, in fact, increasing racial divide and divisiveness in our nation, somehow able at the same time to have the liberal progressive media community as a personal platform to increase the rhetoric of hate towards conservative and Christian values. 

A Muslim in DC

In a Tweet by Charlie Kirk (@CharliesKirk11), he wrote, “Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District is the District with the highest rate of terrorist recruitment in the United States. It is represented by @IlhanMN who has:

       Defended ISIS recruits asking for compassion

       Called for lighter sentences on terrorists

       Called Israel evil”

There is a concern her appointment, by Nancy Pelosi (1/16/19), as a member of the Foreign Affairs Council will give her access to important intelligence that she may share with the wrong people and use against American interests. The Foreign Affairs Committee oversees all foreign assistance, national security affecting the country’s foreign policy, treaties, peacekeeping and war powers. 

Omar spoke at a C.A.I.R. sponsored event in Los Angeles in March (2019). (Read).  During her speech she referred to those who perpetrated 911 as, “some people did something.”   Political Islamists attacked America and over 3000 people died.  Her comment is offensive to many, including me.  Journalists have been reticent to ask her the tough questions, even how she actually feels about 911. But today’s journalists tend to be liberal left and weak when it comes to challenging those who would alter the landscape of America. She also claimed C.A.I.R. was formed post 911, which is not true.  This Hamas-Iran-linked Islamist organization was formed in 1994. 

Stay Focused

We must all be watchdogs of this individual and another woman. Rashida Tlaib, a Muslim, in Congress from the State of Michigan (13th), as their negative positions towards Israel and a capitalistic America, a land of opportunity that rewards success, have been made known.  In addition they have associated with known political Islamic organizations such as C.A.I.R. as speakers and supporters. 

Actress Rosanna Barr commented during a recent interview, no holds barred,   As for “freshman Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) and Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), it’s scary that we have Hamas in our Congress,” referencing the Palestinian terror group. 

Another concern. We know legislators are subject to the money they need to continue their future quests to retain office. Also the largest funding sources are lobbyists with an agenda, seeking votes, support, or allegiance from those they fund.  Would it not follow that political Islamic organizations, less patriotic and more ideological, would give to the ideologically friendly, like Omar and Rashida Tlaib, to further their want to transform America, to include amending the Constitution and instituting hate laws with a focus on Muslims. They are focused on Islam and the more strident, even radical Muslim over any given American infidel. 

Keep an eye out for the activities of Muslims elected to the hallowed halls of our Nation. Let not our democratic values and freedoms be eroded.
